GamesMaster & Nintendo magazine milestone - 250th edition

In the sweetie shop I noticed a shiny gold beacon on the shelf. It turned out it was the 250th edition of gamesmaster magazine. Right next to it with a massive picture of mario in his iconic flying pose with a 250 next to him was Nintendo magazine. They are both 250 editions old.....

Wow, I feel old!!! I remember watching Dominik diamond and Patrick Moore back when the original programme started back in 1992! Then after that in series 3 - Dexter Fletcher from Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Bugsy Malone fame...

A great show that took gaming out of boys smelly bedrooms and onto our tele boxes with a bang! Diamond was a great presenter who went for a "I don't give a sh*t who you are" presenting style.

Some of the unlikely celebrity guests included Take That, Frank Bruno, Vinnie Jones, Todd Carty, Frank Skinner, Ant and Dec, Michael Fish, Paul Mckenner and many more. Check out

One of my stand out moments was Whigfield getting married to Diamond at the end of the show because she passed her challenge! Look it up on YouTube. :)

So back to the shop all I could think was that I wanted the magazines, especially as they have goodies like posters and stickers chucked in!!
